- David Bowie in "Zoolander", complete with freeze frame intro and a clip of "Let's Dance".
- Orson Welles in "The Muppet Movie".
- Neil Patrick Harris in "Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle": I'm tripping balls.
- my number one pick: Marshall McLuhan in "Annie Hall".
- The post title comes from Rodney Dangerfield's "Back To School", where Rodney has to write a term paper on Kurt Vonnegut, so of course he goes and pays Kurt Vonnegut to write the paper. After receiving an F, we see Rodney yelling into the phone "Next time I'm gonna call Robert Ludlum!" Very Simpsons-esque moment.
I'd be remiss if I didn't mention my, and ALOTT5MA's, favourite cameo missing from the initial list: Samuel L. Jackson as an escape artist con in the under-rated "Out Of Sight".
Jack Foley: "You broke out?"
Hejira Henry: "I prefer to think of it as an exodus from an undesirable place."

My absolute, all-time favourite cameo is Hal Sparks in Spiderman 2, as the guy in the elevator who completments Peter Parker on his costume. It's funny (at least to me) because Sparks played a comic book shop owner on Queer as Folk for five seasons. (It also helps if you think of Spiderman 2 as an extended metaphore for "coming out")
