Example of a back-handed compliment

Co-worker: That's a very nice colour shirt today Jason. That colour is going to be very popular this year, very smart.

Me: Thanks.

Co-worker: Yes, I saw a lot of the women on the Oscars wearing that colour.

Me: Er, thanks?
