I may be the last person on the internet to not have watched this yet. I certainly heard about it, it's been on the news and all over the web, but now I've finally watched it. Ladies and Gentlemen: 1,500 inmates of the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center, Cebu, Philippines doing the dance from Michael Jackson's "Thriller".

This is apparently part of their exercise routine. I wonder if they drew straws to pick who played the girl or just held auditions.

In addition to this, we have them performing Queen's "Radio Ga Ga" and "I Will Follow Him" from the movie Sister Act.

This is the reason the internet was created.

Hmmm, I doubt they drew straws. That dude was pretty convincing. I don't think this is a one time gig for him, if you know what I mean.

The last 45 seconds are quite harrowing. At first, because I'm a huge zombie fan, and the image of 1500 orange ensconced Filipino zombies is terrifying to the power of X.

But also because, you KNOW some of those guys were in for rape. Is it such a good idea to have them recreate a scene where they stalk, close in on, and attack a prone woman(even a male dressed as a woman)? Thats not very good rehab, dit moi.

Finally, this is an illustration of the pwoer of blogger friends. I've been avoiding watrching this all week, since I've been sent the link 40 times, and seen it pop up all over facebook. But it was you Jason(or is it Dave, ladies? heh heh), so I succumbed.

Yeah Tim, I'm late to the party too. I'd heard so much about it I couldn't be bothered, then it popped up on A List of Things Thrown Five Minutes Ago, so I figured what the hell. Just so weird.

Thriller has managed to cross many cultures... it has even been done by Bollywood:
