Oh wow! This is really cool. I like the Tim Burton book that pops out at the beginning, and I own a set of the pens at the end. They are good pens.

I would like to go to that bookstore someday.

It was a travesty to leave Timber Timbre off the short list. I've caught him live twice opening for GLS and he has amazed me!

I'll have some comments/post after the shortlist is out, but as for the long list, I was a little surprised to see Leonard Cohen's live album since it's not like it's new material. Land of Talk was a good album, but I would have preferred to see Jenn Grant "Echoes" or Laura Barrett "Victory Garden" on the list based on artistic merit.

Grant Lawrence usually highlights some omissions on his podcast for Polaris, and I'm sure Lana Gay will do the same on her show this afternoon.

I'd have to check the rules about when an album had to be released to qualify, but I thought Rock Plaza Central would have popped up. I fully expect to see Ohbijou up there next year.

And no, Neko Case isn't on there as she is only honourary Canadian.

I have recently been doing this work myself to extend Throwing Things'. Have though confined analyses to artists who have never been considered by the Nominating Committee (ie. those which have Previously Considered: No on their Future Rock Legends pages.

I have already created pages for:

- The Smiths (don't merit induction; eligible in 2008)
- Slayer (merits induction; eligible in 2008)
- Sonic Youth (merits induction; eligible in 2007)
- Janet Jackson (borderline; eligible in 2007)

I intend to do quite a number of further artists completely ignored by the Rock Hall's Nominating Committee in reverse chronological order of eligibility. If you look on my site, you can check for updates.

I've never done NXNE and I've lived in TO for 10 years now. I suck. Actually, I have gone to some NXNE-related shows, but never done the thing properly.

I have done SXSW though, so that redeems me a bit, right?
